During the first part of this two-part series, we discussed the importance of giving the exterior of your home a spruce up during the spring.
So, without any further ado, join us as we run through a few more great ideas on how to do exactly that – restoring the outside of your home in time to truly enjoy your post-pandemic freedom.
Power Wash
If your home’s outside walls, patio or driveway have seen better days, and are now covered in moss, lichen or mud, it could be time to get the power washer out – or hire someone to come out and do it for you.
It’s all well and good having a beautifully pristine home inside but, if the outside of your property doesn’t match, it could set the wrong impression right off the bat.
Power washing, using either high-pressured water or DOFF steam cleaning, can help ensure your home not only looks its best but also preserves its value – something that’s incredibly important if you’re looking to sell anytime soon.
Restore Your Windows
While on the subject of preserving your home’s value, having well looked after windows can help substantially.
Therefore, it’s important to keep on top of their maintenance. Simply go around and inspect the outside of each window, looking for any cracks, gaps or issues in need of resolving.
Then, using a sponge, some warm soapy water and a window cleaning spray, give each window a quick wipe down to give your home a certain shine to it.
Clear Your Garage
If you have a garage, spring is the ideal time to give it a bit of a clear out, freeing up some room for whatever you’d like to use it for instead – a mancave, a car store or simply extra storage space.
If you have tools or random pieces of junk scattered here, there and everywhere, set aside a few hours to organise everything and throw away anything you no longer need.
That way, you’ll give yourself a lot more space to play with, which can only be a good thing.
Check your Roof
Your home’s roof can be a major source of issues you may not even know about.
Whether it be a pest bird problem, a slipped tile or a poorly maintained chimney flue, spring is the ideal time to get up on top of your home and try to resolve any issues you spot.
Otherwise, they could only fester into a bigger, more expensive problem you’ll need to sort out later on.
If, however, you don’t feel comfortable working at height, that’s no problem. Our team here at MC Property Maintenance are specially trained to operate cherry pickers that can make inspecting your roof a doddle.
